How Our Story Started

Crooked Tree Acres began in 2009 when Jody and Linda Gueningsman purchased land in rural Parkers Prairie, MN for hunting and recreation with their two sons. Over the years, countless hours were spent transforming the more than 400-acre property into a haven for hunting and fishing.

Our Name

The name “Crooked Tree Acres” came about when Jody, clearing trees for hunting lanes, spotted a distinctively crooked tree and sent a photo to Linda. From that moment, the name stuck, becoming a rite of passage for all who visit.

The Barn

Jody always dreamed of having a barn on the property, but other projects took priority—until their oldest son and his fiancée approached them with a special request. She wanted to be married in a barn; he wanted to marry on the property. That was the moment to bring the dream to life! In late 2021, they began tirelessly building what stands today.

Our Wish for You

Crooked Tree Acres is our little slice of heaven, and we hope it will be yours too. With vast acres, a full-service barn venue, a private bridal ensuite, a groom’s room in a grain bin, indoor and outdoor ceremony sites, electric campsites, and a cozy enclosed porch for happy hour, everything is designed so you never have to leave on your special day. Having helped plan our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding, we hope to give other families the same unforgettable experience.

We Look Forward to Meeting You!
